DATA COLLECTION

The WeatheX app does not collect any identifiable data. Upon submitting a report, only geographical coordinates, the time and date, the reported severe weather phenomenon and an optional text and a photo are sent and stored in the WeatheX database.

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes (CLEX) intends to provide weather information to thescientists and meteorologists. This information will be used for research or severe weather forecasting purposes. The ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes (CLEX) also intends to provide public access to weather information collected by the app if permitted by the WeatheX app users current permissions settings.
